Happy Rhodes

Winamp Skins

Here are some Happy Rhodes Winamp Skins I made. For those not familiar with Winamp skins, they "cover" your Winamp player to change the look. Anyone with a Winamp 1.8 or newer can use these or any other Winamp skins. I'm not an artist or particularly creative, so my hope is that these will spark an interest in truly creative people to make Happy skins of their own, because I'd love to see more, better skins. I'm working on a sorta "Tutorial" on how to make Winamp skins. It should be ready soon.

These are available as zip files if anyone wants to use them. Just click on any of the pictures to download that skin's zipfile. Make a sub-directory in your Winamp directory called Skins. In *that* subdirectory, make a Happy directory and put the zip file into that. Unzip the files into that same directory. Fire up your Winamp, click on the upper left-hand corner of the Winamp and go down to Options. When the 2nd window pops up, go to Skin Browser. When the Skin Browser pops up, click on Set Skins Directory and choose the directory called Skins. You don't have to specifically choose the Happy directory. If you download more than one of these skins, number your directories, Happy1, Happy2, Happy3 and/or Happy4.

Tip: A quick way to call up the Skins browser is to click anywhere on Winamp to make it active, then press Alt S. The Skins broswer will pop right up.

Another option is to not unzip them, and just put the zip files straight into the Skins directory. Winamp should show the skins anyway, once you've chosen one in the Skins Browser. You really only need to unzip them into their own separate directories if you want to look at the individual parts, and read the readme.txt.

Just in case no one reads the readme.txt files with each HappyAmp, I want to say now that I did *NOT* make the Equalizers and Playlist Editors included with these files. I took them from other sources. Whenever an Equalizer and Playlist Editor (called up with the "eq" and/or the "pl" buttons on Winamp) are not specifically included with a skin, the default is almost always the Base Winamp EQ & PL. Well, as much as I love the Winamp folks, their EQ & PL are Bud Ugly, so I stole 2 that other people had made. (They're credited in the Readme.txt files, honest!!)

If other people make Happy Winamp Skins, I can make them available on this page, and give proper credit, of course.

There are 2 shots of each Skin, one when the player is "Off" and another when it's playing something.
