About 5.30pm and just sat around. We wanted to make sure that we got up front to see Imogen for the first time, as we were very excited about it. So we waited outside and watched people come in and out of the venue. One lady was really kewl, and as we put our ears up to the cracks of the door to listen to Immi's soundcheck, she came out and asked who we were fans of. We told her and she gave us each a poster from the ones she was pinning up on the walls. She was just a really cool person through the whole night. She also told us that if we went to the back door we could hear the soundcheck better. We ended up not doing that cause Rufus was back there talking on a cell phone, so we just waited outside. We finally got into the venue about 7.15 and sat down (there were seats, which shocked me cause its usually standing room only in this venue). We picked out the seats we wanted and waited. While we were waiting around 7.30 pm i spotted Immi walk out from backstage and we waited a minute, then got up and went to the tshirts area. We stood there for a minute not knowing if we should just go up to her or what, but we finally did and so glad for that. She was really great and talked to us about touring, going back in the studio, the show, and her buying her first guitar here in town. She said she was going to introduce her guitar to everyone tonite during the show, but not play it. I mentioned a few songs that everyone spoke about hearing that weren't released and she said she hadn't picked out a name for the New Song quite yet. she was also very interested in knowing everyone's reaction from the new songs, and i told her that they were possitive, and everyone was giving her rave reviews. She smiled really big. Then we all just BS'ed for about 5 minutes, and thanked her for her time, and we back to our seats. She told us to enjoy the show, and we said we had a feeling we would. So she finally came on stage after someone lit the candles in the front. She was toting her new guitar, and seemed very proud of it. Introduced it to us and asked for some applause to "bless" the guitar for good music. She started the show with Candlelight. Now, i hadn't seen Imogen live before tonite, so i wasn't too sure of what to expect exactly..but i was completely impressed, as was Lana. She was so into the music....we could feel it and i had goosebumps most of the way through the show. She had her hair up in a french twist and some sleeveless sikly like top on, and a gold glittery skirt with those red (vinyl?) boots. She looked fabulous, and more flattering in person i think that i've seen in photo's. After Candlelight came Come Here Boy, Oh My Oh My, and then RAKE IT IN! I love this song and live it just carries a life of it's own. she went crazy during it and the french twist came tumbling down into a massie pile of hair. The high pitched screaming was flooring, and peircing. It was brilliant. Then came I'm In Love With You, which was my first time hearing, and I really liked that one...it wasn't on her original setlist, which we got after the show, so i guess she jsut stuck this one in. Kidding was after that, then the New Song - Untitled, which she dedicated to her friend thats been having problems. It brought small tears in our eyes, quite beautiful! Sweet Religion came, and then the last song of her set....Sleep. It was just great, and the crowd recieved her very well. During the show she mentioned that usually she has "to ask people to be quiet, but we are already quite so that's great!" I was happy with the amount that she talked....always love an artist that talks to the crowd. She's just got a beautiful voice, talking and singing. We weren't going to stay for Rufus's set at all, so we gave up our seats to a few of his fans, and stood around the tshirt area and stuff. We ended up going inside again to see her sing with Rufus on the one song (April's Fool?). We took some photo's then, since we didn't during her set. We felt it would be distracting and rude with the flash and didn't want to disturb such a great preformance. I only took one photo of her at the end of "Sleep" as she was saying goodbye. So Lana and i took some photo's of when she was singing backup for Rufus. After that we waited one more song to see if she would come out so we could tell her that her set was rawking and how much we really enjoyed it. she didn't come out during that song, and we were hungry and had to pee, so we left. Happy and Content. Loved it so much, i'm driving to Louisville to see her open for ole Rufus in 2 weeks! :) Well, thats my "review"....it was a perfect night!
