Imogen came out promptly at about 9:00 pm. She was beautiful with her funky hair, her burnt orange pants, a glittery skirt over that and a matching sleeveless top. Glitter strips on her eyelids to complete the funky look she has. She came out holding a candle and said she was gonna start with "Candlelight" but was blowing off the candle to comply with some NYC fire law regulations. The crowd received her well! She then played "Oh me, Oh my." At this point, it became evident that the crowd was a noisy one and many continued to talk throughout her whole performance. (I tell ya, I usually love my fellow New Yorkers, but I wanted to kill quite a few there for being so noisy and rude.) She then played, "Come here boy" and as always before doing that song explained that she wrote this song when she was about 16 and in love or infatuated with a much older man (she mentioned this time he was about 50!) who was married and had kids. Just before she started with the next song, "Rake it in" she said to those of us who were right there in front, "maybe this will shut them up because I get a little bit crazy with this song but I'll calm down." She really belted her guillotine sounds there, and I was so thrilled that I laughed really loud, and she smiled trying to get back into finishing the song. She then played "Angry Angel," for which she announced that there were new t-shirts with this name and this really cute drawing that she did herself (so buy them, they're only $15.) The next song was a new song--"I'm in love with you" about that person you care about and when they kiss you and you want them to do more. Next, was "Getting Scared" and she finished with "Sleep." She was absolutely amazing as always! I didn't think we were gonna speak to her tonight, since Rufus finished and people were leaving, but I went back to the t-shirt booth to get another t-shirt, and lo and behold Imogen was right there! She's so sweet and remembered us very well. We talked for a good while and told her about my new Imogen site. I got permission to put any or all the songs I want in my site, including those wonderful live ones I got. So, just to let you know, I'll be including the full live versions of Kidding, Pocket Sun, and Foolish. Also, Kyle, her manager let us know that there will be an extra month of tour dates to be added. It will be a month on the west coast. I will post a similar review on my "Reminisce" page and will let you know tomorrow the addy for the site, as I'm still adding the sounds. I would be happy if it did, but I doubt it will. Hi y'all, My first post (and de-lurk!) here, and I just want to say that I think Imogen is wonderful, and I'm glad this list exists for her! On the potentially down side, I was planning to travel to Baltimore (from NC) on March 16th to see her show with Rufus Wainwright, at 'Fletcher's', but I checked on their website, and they only have Rufus listed, with no opening act !?! Plus, on the Almo Sounds site they don't have her listed for 'Fletcher's' either, tho' I think she was scheduled to play there at one point. Does anybody know the scoop on that ? She's also playing a show at the '9:30 Club' in DC on the 14th, but the other date was actually going to work out better for me, plus I have a buddy in Balto that I was going to stay with, etc.,etc.., but I might try to catch the DC (or Atlanta) gig if there's no other choice. Actually, I wish she could squeeze a NC gig in there somewhere (Chapel-Hill would be a particularly good town for one), but maybe that'll happen on the next tour. Anyway, thanks for the reports on the shows so far, and I hope to catch one soon myself ! Regards, Neb Rodgers _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
