She is absolutely fantastic solo on the piano, but I can't help but think how even more dynamic she would be with a band, like on the album. Does anyone know whether she will have a band opening with Rufus, or is it solo again? Incidentally, none of the Tower Records in the Bay area have Shine. I special-ordered it through the store and catalog. Hopefully its not out of stock with the supplier. Again, if anyone finds it somewhere, if you would be kind enough to pick me a copy - I'll reimburse!! Dan ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Feb 1999 12:59:22 EST From: Nanikita@aol.com Subject: [Imogen] release date of I MEGAPHONE & singles Hi everyone, Imogen's official bio says that she was signed up with Almo Sounds April/97. After writing and recording "Blanket" with Urban Species, then settled with producers David Kahne and Guy Sigsworth. Over the next 6 months the album was recorded in NY & London. Her debut single, "Getting Scared" is released as a limited edition (that puts it towards Oct/97...I have that single, it only has the date of 1997). "Shine" her second single is released April 13, 1998. "Come here boy" is released June 29, 1998. And, I MEGAPHONE is released July 13, 1998 through Almo Sounds. BUT, according to her discography section, the release date for I MEGAPHONE is August 10, 1998 and the "Come here boy" single is August 24, 1998. A bit confusing, maybe the early plans were a bit delayed. It doesn't say and I don't know where these release dates apply--UK and/or USA. Her news says I MEGAPHONE was just released, January 11, 1999 in France. So from that info, "Blanket" with Urban Species was recorded in 1997 and is that the one that is soon to be released? can some angry angel clarify this ;). Didn't that happen? >> It could be, all I remember is that I picked up the cassette sampler in late June-early july, and looked for an album for a while but couldn't find it, and remember looking in my local paper in June I think, saying that iMEGAPHONE was just released tha tweek, but that's all I remember :) Patrick ------------------------------ End of wireless-digest V2 #30 *****************************
