I just finished reading all past mailings for this list so that I can be up to par with what's going on. Very informative. I was glad to see that Dustin does a really good job in keeping people informed with CD releases and other news. Charlie, I saw your signed poster too. Great :). I got the same signed too. Lane, thankyouverymuch, for ever mentioning this list since I only got you an autograph, pics and bootleg. So, how many members were on this list? was it 22? Is the different mix of Getting Scared that I heard in the film the one on the soundtrack? Because the back of the album didn't really specify... I really really like the Blue Monday cover I've been hearing on the radio that's supposed to be on that soundtrack too. Is there more Industrial sounding stuff on there or does the rest sound like that Jennifer Love Hewitt song? :P Nanikita, I love imog9.jpg... thanks for the pics. But isn't that a BEER, and isn't Imogen underage? (Anyone know her exact birthday?) ;) Must be the european roots or something. Oh and I'm a little bitter, I wasn't able to see Imogen in Sacramento last week because the only way to get tickets was to win a stupid call-in contest every other hour on this station, I can't remember how many times I was caller 2 or 7 or some junk when I needed to be 10. dammit! And driving to San Fransisco just wasn't feasible for me. Doh! Guess I'm stuck waiting for the next tour-- perhaps Imogen will open for another act (hey... alanis is touring soon.) or something. So how about an IRC channel or chatroom (please not a java chat) or something? You wanna talk bitter? How's this: I just discovered Imogen on Wednesday. I bought the CD after two friends suggested it, and loved it. I searched the web for info, and found some tour dates. She was here in Pittsburgh on Tuesday (the day before I bought the CD)! DO NOT kill me for saying that. it's just sometimes in her voice i hear a little violence.. like in getting scared and rake it in for example. ehhh i dunno how to explain it really. but hopefully you all won't kill me for mentioning manson now and go into some big debate on how evil or not evil they are. Just about all female rockers these days hate being compared to Alanis Morissette. I happen to also be a fan of Meredith Brooks who has definatley had her share... while she hasn't said she hates the comparisons, you can tell it irriatates her slightly, espically considering she hadn't even heard of Alanis when she wrote Bitch (years ago). Imogen doesn't sound like Alanis that much at all. She reminds me a hell of a lot more of Fiona Apple or Tori Amos... but shes so damn unique that even these comparisons are "stretching it" But, Alanis is definatley successful, and wether you love her as much as I do or you hate her, she definatley made an impact on the commercial market which allowed some other solo females to shine. Unfortunatley, many of them get slapped with the "angry bitch" label before we've even heard their album... >I startup #imogenheap on undernet whenever i go on... groovy, we should get it registered as a channel on the undernet and have little imogen chats or whatever you folks are up for :P ___________________________________________________________ Just another message from -=Rob Vanatta=- rvanatta@ecst.csuchico.edu OR mirror@poe.org http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~rvanatta - homepage http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~rvanatta/mbrooks - Meredith Brooks NET http://come.to/sacrocky - Under Sedation, Sacramento's Rocky Horror! - ----------------------------------------------------------- "Explode or impode We will take care of it" - - The Cardigans - ----------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Dec 1998 13:03:45 EST From: Nanikita@aol.com Subject: [Imogen] ....not her beer >>Nanikita, I love imog9.jpg... thanks for the pics.
