Adrian Brassington" Subject: [Imogen] Justafollowup... Hi. I'm a newbie. Saw the post about the withdrawn 'Come Here Boy Part II' single...can you tell me what *is* available out there as singles? Oh...for the record...I'm a Canadian living in Britain...Hove, acutarly...and discovered Imogen on a sampler disc...saw her last month in London...and would see her anywhere, anytime, for any price, again. Wowee! I love mostly ecto music, and have an extensive collection of female singer-songwriter CDs...lots more, but these bytes cost money... [That was a joke...laugh, dammit! :) ] Adrian. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 06 Oct 1998 10:10:06 +0100 From: Dan Abel Subject: Re: [Imogen] Justafollowup... M. What you can get in the uk is: Come here boy single Shine single (with three really good b-sides IMHO) Getting scared single (probable getting scarce by now *grin*) I Megaphone album - didn't see any copys in HMV on oxford street, but borders has some... Also if you wanna be clever browse around the second hand shops and you should find all the singles in thin card cases as promo (for 50p if you are lucky) and a four track sampler of the album I heard rumours of an ealier album, but i've found nothing concrete yet... > Oh...for the record...I'm a Canadian living in Britain...Hove, acutarly...and discovered Imogen on a sampler disc...saw > her last month in London...and would see her anywhere, anytime, for any price, again. which gig did you see her at? How many think the singles should have live b-sides, as well as studio b-sides? I think it would be great! Also, does anyone know if there will be US singles? They havn't promoted her much over here (US), but is they release Getting Scared or Sweet Religion to the major radio station she will be huge. Just a thought. Just a thought. i completely agree about the singles, i would be very happy to have b-sides & more b-sides [ala tori amos 'singles'].. and as far as radio play goes, i'm perfectly happy with no one knowing who she is... i think she gets too much airplay as it is here in SF with 'come here boy'.. i prefer my unknowns to stay unknown. look what happened to my fiona.. charlie. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Oct 1998 12:21:01 EDT From: GaiaRainn@aol.com Subject: Re: [Imogen] b-sides Hey, I agree about the b-sides, that would rock. I'm surprised that she has the number of b-sides that she does. But I also agree about the unknown thing to an extent, I don't like it when my unknowns are unknown, like Lauren Christy or Katell Keineg(I bet you are all going who??, see exactly) but I also don't like them getting overplayed IE Fiona, paula cole, But I think one of my faves, Ani Difranco has the perfect status, she is known and loved extensively but never played. see, that'd be cool, but anyway, my opinion :) Patrick ------------------------------ End of wireless-digest V1 #24 *****************************
