"it sucks because i'm only 20 and you go to the gig for the music and you can't get in". she asked me how i liked the ep and which b-side was my favorite. i told her i loved it and that "leave me to love" my a great track. she agreed. i asked her when she was coming back to the US, as i had a friend in new york who wanted to see her. she said it would be november, possibly february, as she was trying to find a support act. and that was pretty much it for imogen. she was really cool and we talked to her for a good 10 minutes or so. she really is like 6foot something... she was as tall as me (6'4") with her hair. she had it dreaded like alanis morissette in the "you learn" video, but it was up in pigtails and teased. she was really cool. as for heather nova... there isn't much to say, except how she rocked! we almost missed her set... dustin had to pee, so i heard her on stage from the bathroom. i sware she came on early. so.. she rocked.. she played material from both "oyster" and "siren". i found out later at the signing, that she has a new band that doesn't know her older material.. so they can't play great songs like "mother tongue". i almost died when the drummer through out his drum sticks at the end of the set.. he though them right behind me & there was a 13 year old girl and some like 30something red neck fighting for them. turned out... i was stepping on one of them! so.. they were trying to move me... so, i just walked away with them fighting at my feet. it was a bit funny actually. at her signing i got my cd cover of "siren" signed. she was a bit "rock-starish". she had a bit of an attitude. but.. whatever... we were still all glowing form imogen. we left about 8pm... we had to drive back to atlanta that night, as kelly had a class to teach at 9am. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ i scanned a copy of the imogen concert ad for atlanta and put it up on my web page... go to http://www.cantnot.org/rusty and go to the imogen section and click on "concert ad". ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ - -rusty ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. I am a very sad grrl. I have read the emails about people meeting Imogen and going to her concerts. I wish she would play somewhere near me. (I'm in Richmond, VA, right smack dab in the middle of Virginia). We don't even have an alternative radio station here anymore. They took it away to make room for another "oldies" station, so I have no way of hearing Imogen on the radio at work or in my car or anything. Also, I can't really find her stuff here. I ordered the "Come Here Boy" 2 singles from Music Blvd., but I reeeeeeelllly want the Shine EP and have no idea where to get it. Also, do y'all know if there is any other Imogen merchandise, like posters or t-shirts or stuff? I'm desperate here!
