I am trying to find one or several Joni Mitchell recordings that would give my ears a real close show of a variety of Joni's guitar playing as well as tuning changes, so I can pay close attention to the how-to? Thanks for the suggestions. Bill ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Dec 2003 16:34:10 -0500 From: "Marian" Subject: Re: Best Guitar Picking Albums?? I think JOni's first albums are the best as far as "guitar picking" - Song To A Seagull, Clouds, Ladies of the Canyon. Particular songs which are interesting to me in terms of the intricacy of the guitar picking are: Tin Angel, The Dawntreader, Ladies Of The Canyon, I Don't Know Where I Stand, The Priest, Michael From Mountains, The Gallery, That Song About The Midway - there are certainly more, but these come immediatly to mind. Hope this helps. I agree with marian that the early songs are where you can here joni playing the most (cuz its just her voice & instrument for the most part)... I learned to play That Song About The Midway & performed it recently thanks to marian & sue's excellent tabs! Here it is : http://www.jmdl.com/guitar/thatsongaboutthemidway-mrsm-c.cfm It is very easy to learn & sounds soooooo beautiful! Thank you so much marian & sue for I would never have been able to figure this out on my own!
