Kristy Thirsk's CD release party has now come and gone. :-( And, I was too drunk to remember any of it! Hence, the delay in recapping it for you all...or maybe I've been busy :-) Here's what I do remember... The Media Club was decorated with helium filled pink balloons and all the tables had free candy (Hershey's kisses, bubble gum, chewy candy and I think whistles but I didn't see any on my table) on them. Kristy's appearance... Face Make-Up: bluish eye shadow with glitter on her face Hair: free flowing and untied Top: white and sleeveless with a big white artifical-looking rose just above her left breast Skirt: sparkly plum coloured pointed strips of fabric hanging down from her waist Stockings: cream coloured with light diagonal lines Footwear: long tall white boots She was accompany by about 4 (or was that 5?) other musicians in her "band". She mentioned that she may be coming down with a cold so she wasn't in perfect vocal form...avoided doing some of her usual "vocal acrobatics" like in the beginning of the song "Take You On". But she still sounded great! Kristy's mum, dad, aunt and uncle were also at the show...I think one or more them may have briefly sat down next to me...hard to not notice an older woman with her hands in her ears. lol! The Set List (copied from the one Kristy was using which I just happen to have in my hands after the show): 1. At the Border 2. If Only 3. Over It 4. Hypnotized * 5. Second Fiddle 6. Indifference 7. Take You On 8. Run Away 9. Imagination 10. Truth Fantasy * Kristy's relatives' favourite song The show was about 45 minutes long. Has anyone seen the new "Run Away" video? I saw it the other day. I was shot in the dark at Stanley Park (Vancouver). It has a greenish tint to it as if it was shot using night vision equipment and perhaps a spotlight was used used to illuminate her since she looked really strange with the light reflecting off her eyes as she moves/ dances around in the darkness. It ends with the sun rising behind her. - - Acquizeta ------------------------------ End of vicious-thorn-digest V8 #24 **********************************
