Well, OK, then, I guess I'll delurk and do it myself. :) Well, I got out late from work (I live in SD, had to work in Upland, CA that day, which is 2 hrs from home, then drove another hour to LA for the show), and ended up getting there 20 minutes late, tired, flustered, and without a pen to do so much as write down what I could of a set list. And, needless to say, I can remember the songs, but not the titles. Aargh... Anyway, it sounds like things were pretty much the same as they were at the first LA show (which I missed) - she played songs off her upcoming album, which all sounded really good. She talked a bit about what's coming up for her: the new album, the tour with Delerium, and of course, her site. She finished off the set with a cover of "In Between Days" by the Cure, which just sounded...neat. Sorry, can't think of a better way to describe it right now, but it's one of my fav songs by the Cure, and she did an excellent job on it, really doing the song justice. After the show, I got a chance to say hi, thank her for a lot of awesome music, and generally bumble around like the big, shy geek I am. :( She was pretty friendly and gracious, though, and I ended up getting the chance to suggest to her and her manager Java Joe's down here in San Diego, a coffee house / concert venue which is highly acoustic-friendly. For those of you not from around here (like most of ya), some of the notable acts in the past few years have included Jewel, Tara MacLean (whose been there like half a dozen times), and, more recently, Jason Mraz (local boy done good). Sp, a good time was had by all (I hope) - by the way, the food at Genghis Cohen (which I checked out after the show) is really good, too. For those who are nearby, check 'em out. :) Later all, - --Jason ------------------------------ End of vicious-thorn-digest V7 #22 **********************************
