Anybody down in California, get your ass to the shows! She seriously rocks! Ah but then we all know that... :) This was my third show and I will never ever tire of seeing her! Can't wait til the next one!! :) Seattle here I come again... as soon as a show is finalized there... should be October or November according to Kristy and Bill. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I stole a set list... Good Morning Second Fiddle Giant Pedestal (something I can't read)/Love Hurts Voice in Jail Imagination Don't Ask Hollywood Groove Truth Fantasy That isn't entirely accurate, because they didn't play Hollywood and maybe something else, not sure... but that was the set list to begin with... And here's the totally cool news... :) They were selling CDs!!!!!! Am I the first one to buy a Kristy Thirsk CD? or two... or three... or four... hell I told her I wanted all of them, but I didn't have that much money! :) It's called BootLegs, it's got 6 songs. Souvenir, Second Fiddle, Imagination (live), Something Spilt, Behind the Wheel*, and Giant Pedestal (live). (* - side note - I am a HUGE Depeche Mode fan and when I saw that Kristy did a DM cover, I FREAKED!! It's pure heaven... my two favorite things combined into one... :) There is a little note from Kristy on the back of the insert. She signed inside them all for me. If any of you goes and sees her, make sure you pick one up! And have her sign it, she's so great! And if she signs if in a red sharpie, I gave that to her... ;) Later, KT-fans! I got a CD to listen to... ;) Mindy :) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 16 Sep 2000 00:25:39 -0700 From: "loraleigh bowyer" Subject: Re: BootLegs does anyone know of anywhere else one could obtain a kristy cd? Anybody down in California, get your ass to the shows! She >seriously rocks! Ah but then we all know that... :) I saw her last night in San Francisco. Unfortunately, I can't make it tonight (she's playing again!) but I will definitely be at the festival in San Jose where she's playing Sunday. What a treat for the bay area! The show was really excellent. I was in shock that she was selling CD's - luckily I had a little cash left over after buying drinks. (d'oh!) She signed mine as well - I told her she should be the biggest star in the world, and she looked at me a little strangely. Doesn't she know how good she is? :) Her voice was in mint condition, the band was excellent. I don't think the venue was the best place, though. Most of the crowd had been dancing to hard industrial/goth music all night and her set was a real change that many of the idiots couldn't take. She really seems to be concentrating on the ballads. Anyway, I just recently joined this list. Nice to meet everyone. Anyhow, Kristy was positively radiant, her voice as awe-inspiring and angelic as ever - and maybe it was the lighting, but her eyes sparkled like gems in sunlight (nevermind that she was also wearing sparkles on her eyelids, and here and there on her face, neck , and chest). She wore a small black shirt, a small red skirt, short dark boots, and she had her hair in 2 braids. She sang only one RC song "Voice in Jail", no Delerium; she sang that old ballad called "Love Hurts", and about an hour of her own songs, some of which are on the CD I bought from her last night. The CD is called "Bootlegs", was 10 dollars, and has the songs: Souvenir, Second Fiddle, Imagination (live), Something Split, Behind the Wheel (a Depeche Mode song), and Giant Pedestal (live). She was selling the CD personally after the show, and for the second time in my life I spoke with Kristy, and the coolest thing of all was when she saw me she said "I remember you from last year!" She was so sweet during our brief chat, and she signed the inlay of the CD for me, and I thanked her for coming to the BayArea, and then I went away a bit starstruck. A minute later, almost out the door, I realized I had actually forgotten to pay her for the CD! (And apparently she had forgotten to ask :) So I ran back and told her and paid her, and she gave me the most beautiful smile and told me I was sweet and thanked me. I left that place so elated that my friend Inge wouldn't let me start the car until I had calmed down for a few minutes. Even Inge, who had never heard Kristy before last week, kept going on and on about how beautiful and adorable Kristy is, and that she wished they could be friends. It seems she is playing again in SF tonight, at Maritime Hall, which didn't make it to her website, as well as in San Jose tomorrow. Now, I hate San Francisco, and I especially hate Maritime Hall, and I'm going to see Iron Maiden in Mountain View today, but if time and courage allows, I might brave SF again and enter the loathsome Maritime Hall to see her again. But Inge and I am certain to go to San Jose tomorrow for Kristy's show there. My apologies to those of you who live in areas she won't be playing.
