It was a flyer announcing a concert that very night. I ripped off the flyer and ranted and raved to my friends that I had to go see Kristy Thirsk. Needless to say, I went, and the place where she played was so small, and the stage so short and small, that by standing in the front row I was right there in front of her! I resisted the temptation to hug her, and afterward got to speak with her, and she signed the flyer which I had kept. That was the coolest day of that entire year for me, and so far remains uptopped this year as well :) She sings and plays just as well live as in the studio. I literally cried. She was wearing tall black boots that laced up to her knees, a beautiful white dress resembling the one she has in photos sometimes, crimson red eye-shadow, and red streaks in her hair, like a red wave on either side of her head. She did one Delerium song (Wisdom), one Rose Chronicles song (Voice in Jail), and the rest were new songs of her own, which mostly had the feel of the slower Rose Chronicles material. She was really a bright point for me in an otherwise bland year.
