Comes from living in crappy old England when the best music is in Canada) And I guess my mates have too, cause lately they've started to say 'Look, if her music means that much to you, start saving now and then next year if you get a few weeks notice of a gig, fly over and see her. You'll regret it if you don't.' And the more I thought about this, the more it made sense. So anyway, that's what I've decided to do, and so hopefully next year I'll get to see her sing in 'real life'. So, I guess this has been playing on my mind a little cause last night I had the coolest dream that I saw her in concert! The coolest part as well is that I got to hear about 4 songs. Okay, they were not songs I recognised, and so were probably crap that came out of my head, but they were sung in that perfect voice. :) And then afterwards I got to meet her and she was really nice. And I didn't have anything for her to sign, so I asked her to sign my shoulder and I'd get it tattooed over later. (It was a dream!!!) So anyway, she started to dig this biro pen into my skin really hard, but when I looked later it was the coolest drawing! I don't really remember it, but I remember the top part had the sun and the stars. Anyway, when I woke up I was really happy. Anyway, I was lying in bed for an hour thinking about it (my alarm to wake me up for work still hasn't gone off, but that dream was so cool, and especially now while I'm thinking that that won't be the closest I get to seeing her live ) and I was thinking that maybe I would like a tattoo that sums up her music and her voice. I've been trying to think of something but I'm not having any luck right now. So I was wondering what images came to mind when you all listen to Kristy sing? I thought it might be interesting to see what she conjures up in each of our minds. :) Well, I guess I'll leave you all to think about that. :) Take care, love Justine ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Feb 2000 10:07:31 -0600 From: "Mark Frost" Subject: Re: dreams and images - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Justine" > So I was wondering what images came to mind when you all listen to Kristy > sing? The CD was interactive and her bio said she was with some band called "Rose Chronicles". So I bought their CD's and fell in love with that voice and musical style. When I hear her sing, I my mind envisions hoards of "angels". Not the wimpy sort of "fairy-godmother angels", but the "wrath of god" sort. Her voice is so powerful (i.e. Crayon) , yet beautiful (i.e. Acquiesce) that one can not help but see heavenly angels on some sort of righteous march. Anyway, you asked. :-) - ---------------- Mark Frost -- Patricia Arquette Website http://heartspace.simplenet.com/Arquette/ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Feb 2000 18:51:34 +0100 From: Wanderer Subject: Re: dreams and images Hiya, >So I was wondering what images came to mind when you all listen to Kristy >sing? I wish Charles Bukowski had been on the list. ;) It changes, does'nt it?, a song like 'awaiting eternity' next to 'incantations' etc.. Same voice, different vibes. Nah, to cover all that would probably mean all too many boring adjectives. But the line in that U2 song; '..heard a singer on the radio, late last night, says he gonna kick the darkness til it bleeds daylight'. Yea, closer at least, something like that.
