INTRODUCE YOURSELF! > Please tell us a little bit about yourself! > * Name Mark Frost > * Age 40 > * Where you're from San Francisco, currently -- Dallas, TX > * What kind of music/bands you like I have wide and ecclectic tastes. However, I generally tune out country and rap music although occasionally I'll hear something ion these genres that apeals to me. For the last several years, I've been into the "heavenly-voices" stuff (ala Darkwave, Projekt, Network, Hyperium, etc). I also *still* enjoy the "progressive" art-rock bands of the late 60's and early 70's. Most of modern "pop-rock" bores me goophy. My most recent "enthusiastic musical discovery" is "Spires" by Caledonia. > * Where you first heard Rose Chronicles/Kristy Thirsk On the Delerium CD. After hearing Kristy's voice, I tracked down her discography and bought everything I could find. :-) > * Why you like Rose Chronicles The music is/was just simply unique and not really comparable to anything. I think heaven's official music would sound like this band. I'm not a religious fanatic or anything like that, but Kristy's voice sort of runs the full gambit of Revelations -- wrath of God and hope of man themes all wrapped up into one package :-) I've been into them/her for about two years now and RC is still a regular in my CD player. My favorite song is Crayon. > * Anything else you'd like to share with us I'm a former professional drummer and the proverbial "frustrated musician who no now plays only for fun." Currently, I'm a PhD student in economics (yeah, I'm joining the "ivory tower" :-) Mark Frost Web: http://members.home.net/econman/ Reply to: econman@home.com ------------------------------ End of vicious-thorn-digest V3 #82 **********************************
