I am 25 years old and work as a multimedia programmer and graphic designer. I have been into the Rose Chronicles for about 7 or 8 years, although I admit I am having a hard time remembering exactly how long. I first was introduced to them through a music sampler of Nettwork bands that I got for free at Urban Outfitters, which is a painfully trendy clothing store in Washington DC where I lived at the time. It was actually a really cool sampler tape because it had two Rose Chronicles songs(Awaiting Eternity and Glide), two Sarah McLachlan songs (Possesion and Good Enough) and one Delerium song that I don't remember the name of. Fortunately the physical tape itself was of very poor quality and I was soon forced to run out and buy all of the albums containing those songs, which was acutally a bit of a chore at the time, but I have been hooked ever since. I was already pretty into the Cocteau Twins at the time, and found that as the Rose Chronicles began to fill the holes in my music selection, I noticed other holes I hadn't even known were there before. And they filled those holes too! Now if this sounds overly religious to you, don't worry; just think of it as overly sexual instead. As for other bands I listen to, there is a wide variety, including the aforementioned Cocteau Twins and Sarah McLachlan, But also such diverse artist as Stereolab, Wierd Al, Cibo Matto, Leonard Cohen, the Pixies, the Sundays, Ween, and the ten million other bands that I always forget about when I am in record stores looking for something. Okay bye. ------------------------------ End of vicious-thorn-digest V3 #67 **********************************
