More to come... > Woohoo! It's killing me man. Details, details... I can only report on what I know. What I know beyond the above is that Kristy's new stuff is amazing, and that "Imagination," if released as a single, may be the tune that finally breaks her and the new band. - -- omicron ____________________________________________________________ "Though this be madness, yet there is method in 't" -Polonius / Hamlet: Act II, Scene II http://www.geocities.com/~voxweb VOX - The Web's first Kristy Thirsk fan site ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Apr 1999 00:22:00 -0700 From: omicron Subject: Old Man By the way: I recently received a special-ordered copy of the Neil Young tribute album featuring RC that John Nog mentioned a while back. "Old Man" is a really great cover, oddly enough reminding me of the new band's sound. I'm thinking of posting a clip of it on Vox soon. In the same vein, I visited the Nettwerk store (the Werkshop) a while ago and got a copy of the limited edition Mystery Machine vinyl, "Heart of Glass." Cool track; my girlfriend said she preferred it to Blondie's original. I may regret ever mentioning this, but even though the online Nettwerk catalogue has recently indicated otherwise, last I checked, copies of "Heart of Glass" still kick around the Werkshop. Anybody wishing to complete or augment their Kristy library with this highly-collectible release may contact me about getting a copy. I make no promises. - -- omicron ____________________________________________________________ "Though this be madness, yet there is method in 't" -Polonius / Hamlet: Act II, Scene II http://www.geocities.com/~voxweb VOX - The Web's first Kristy Thirsk fan site ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Apr 1999 03:21:45 -0500 From: "bugo@arkansas.net" Subject: Re: Old Man At 12:22 AM 4/5/99 -0700, omicron wrote: >By the way: I recently received a special-ordered copy of the Neil >Young tribute album featuring RC that John Nog mentioned a while back. >"Old Man" is a really great cover, oddly enough reminding me of the new >band's sound. Hello everyone, I got the aforementioned copy of The Georgia Straight (a free Vancouver-based entertainment journal), and found that Kristy Thurst (sic) has been nominated for "Favorite Local Female" (under the "Best Local Independent" heading) in the 2nd Annual Georgia Straight Readers' Choice Music Awards. The winners will be honoured at the Straight Music Awards Party, hosted by Much Music VJ Sook Yin Lee. Whether this means that the proceedings will be televised has yet to be seen, but any exposure Kristy can get is obviously most desirable. The really good news is that starting April 9th, you can vote ONLINE for Kristy at http://www.straight.com! Let's all make our voices heard and support our favorite female vocalist by voting. Placing first may get her the attention necessary to get her solo debut to us faster... - -- Agent omicron ____________________________________________________________ "Though this be madness, yet there is method in 't" -Polonius / Hamlet: Act II, Scene II http://www.geocities.com/~voxweb VOX - The Web's first Kristy Thirsk fan site ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Apr 1999 20:57:47 -0700 From: omicron Subject: Re: poll in Georgia Straight... Incidentally, on top of the misspelled name thing, Delerium is listed in the poll as a nominee in the "Favorite National Urban Act" category amongst the likes of Love Inc., Maestro, and Deborah Cox. Someone at the Straight needs to be hurt. - -- omicron ____________________________________________________________ "Though this be madness, yet there is method in 't" -Polonius / Hamlet: Act II, Scene II http://www.geocities.com/~voxweb VOX - The Web's first Kristy Thirsk fan site ------------------------------ End of vicious-thorn-digest V3 #30 **********************************
