Hey Fumblers... Thought a few of you might be interested to know that Nettwerk's Kristy Thirsk, former lead singer of the late great Rose Chronicles, has been nominated for a Genie Award (Canada's national film awards) for Best Original Song for her song from the film "Kissed". She's up against young actress Sarah Polley (also nominated for Best Actress), among others, for her work on the "Sweet Hereafter" soundtrack. If you haven't seen 'The Sweet Hereafter', I highly recommend you run, not walk, to the theatre -- it's an amazing film. The soundtrack is also incredible, with haunting music by composer Mychael Danna and vocals by Polley. Not only is she a great actress, she has a beautiful, keening voice as well. Hey, if she ever decides to give up her day job, she could be the next Great Canadian Singer. ;-) - - Tab :) **** Tabassum Siddiqui, Ryerson U, Toronto **** - - This has been a post from the fumbling-towards-ecstasy list.
