I'm writing to you because you manage a mailing list that is hosted here at smoe.org. The main server here at smoe.org has a disk that has died, and it needs to be replaced fairly soon (all data on the main server is stored on redundant disks, so the backup disk has taken over for the failed disk). The last time a disk needed replacement, one of the lists hosted here (the Jewel list) took up a collection to pay for the hardware. I was hoping that you or your list members might be willing to make a small donation to the upkeep of the system. The replacement disk will cost around $400.
