My name is Julian Dunn, and I'm a computer engineering student at the University of Toronto. I'm also the webmaster of a Rose Chronicles web page at http://www.intranet.ca/~jdunn/rosechro/ - -- actually, the first ever unofficial Rose Chronicles web page :) I've been a fan of the Rose Chronicles since they were a four person band, back in the days of Shiver. I like Happily Ever After much better, but of course, comparing albums is like saying "which of your children is your favourite." I'm also subscribed to Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, the Sarah McLachlan mailing list, so I get about 200 messages a day. (I'm only partially kidding... it happens sometimes but not regularly), and ToriNews, the Tori Amos news list. Anyway, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Lawrence for setting up this list and letting me know in advance. I guess that this'll finally put a nail into the coffin of the IS SARAH GAY???? thread, though I expect the IS SARAH BI???? thread will live on in perpetuity. Incidentally, in other Nettwerk news, The Georgia Straight (local weekly entertainment rag) reports that Rose Chronicles have quietly broken up, surprisingly soon after their most recent album release, "ironically named Happily Ever After." The short note quotes Kristy Thirsk, adding that she's working on another project, called Saraphim, now. I could type it in if anyone cares. (I don't think this piece of news has been reported on Ecto yet, has it?) - Neil K. - -----End of forwarded message----- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Feb 1997 21:16:50 -0500 From: "Dave Liebson" Subject: Re: Rose Chronicles broke up? Damn it, Jeff, I was just about to send that here.... :) Anyway -- who else thinks that the timing of this news is ironic, what with the new mailing list and all.... In any case, I assume this means that Thirsk and Miranda aren't playing together, as other band members have come and gone? ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Feb 1997 21:41:05 -0600 (CST) From: "Lawrence J. Argh...so so ironic. Anyways, I'll introduce myself: My name is Lawrence (hi Lawrence, what's your problem?), and I'm a third-year Chemical Engineering student in St. Louis, MO. I first heard about Kristy Thirsk through Delerium through the Enigma Mailing List. I then poked around and found out about Rose Chronicles. I found 'Shiver' while up in Vancouver this winter and fell in love with it! I also purchased 'Happily' and it also rocks. I'm subscribed to the Enigma, POE, Ecto, Veruca Salt, and this mailing list, so I also get a lot mail. Other musical interests include: jazz (Coltrane, Gillespie, Davis), Aerosmith, Tori, cranberries, Toad the Wet Sproket, the Drovers, etc. Okay...I've rambled. Well, let's still talk about Rose Chronicles. Lawrence ************************************************************************ Lawrence J.
