Velvet Belly have been taking a break, because:

* Anne-Marie had a baby (round about the same time as the album came out, if
I'm not mistaken)

* Paal has (allegedly) left the band (the writing in the album booklet would
seem to support this)

...which was probably why they did a gig in Oslo earlier this year before
the above happened.

That aside, touring costs** have gone up over the past year, so unless VB
got sponsorship from
a brand-name company, it would be too expensive for them now to put on the
kind of tours that
they used to do.

** probably #1000 / NKr 10,000 per day
 = crew fees, promoters fees, equipment hire (including sound desk, monitor
speakers, lighting rig,
smoke machine, etc), venue hire + someone to sit in the ticket office +
security, transport,
accommodation, food, tax.....

I know bands who tour for less (mainly bands who are starting out), but it's
usually to the
detriment of their live sound, and that's not what Velvet Belly are about

It has been quite quit here for some time now, and I just

  I did wonder why Paal wasn't at the Oslo gig. I'll have to read the
