I didn't get it through the post that long ago, maybe last Thursday and I haven't had time to just sit back and relax, I must admit. I think I have listened to it about four times. But I can still get into it within four listenings and really get something out of it that I wanted to experience. I admit the first time I listened to it, I just had no idea what I was listening to, I listened to the main album later that day, and then another day and another day and I have have established a link with it I think, where i am remembering it over and over again and it plays away in the back of my head, probably somewhat remixed by the mental DJ. I don't know the names of the different songs linking them to the tunes off hand, I am sure I will experience this connection all laying itself out in my mind soon. I think the album itself has quite an angelic feel about it, but this addition of a voice of a man, I am getting used to his voice. I suppose it was a joke to have the additional vocalist be named Al Medal because of the name given to the lyric writer for Easy in a website giving information about the soundtrack for Love and Sex, I remember Eric Honore making a joke about that in the old guest book, so I wonder who I am listening to there. I bought another album by a different artist Tuesday last week , that I want to sit down an listen to but I simply have not heard more than half of it twice and I enjoy remembering some of the tunes from it. But of course I have listened to Velvet Belly certainly more. There are two CDs to get through, even if one is not actually part of the album. I think really, once I had the new Velvet Belly CD playing, I wanted to listen to the rest of the albums and that took up a good few hours I think the CD cover has hypnotised me a little, or the general use of that pattern throughout the CD set, and it hypnotises me in a similar way that the album does and Anne-Marie's voice does. I think right now I am having my fifth listen to the album now. Some of the music from this album ought to belong to one of those Wim Wenders movies about angels. My pottery teacher heard the name of Velvet Belly being mentioned on a British radio progam in recent weeks, She couldn't remember which program or what was said though and it certainly wasn't a program about deep sea life.
