It must have come through in a delayed way my unofficial Velvet Belly site is at http://www.geocities.com/velvet_belly_uk I have been reliably informed that in good time new official web-pages giving news on their next album will be up. the remains of my personal webpage is to be found at http://members.aol.com/wmvrrvrrmm I'm working on resurrecting things since one of the big free web space areas containing a lot of my sketches and things, simply closed down > does anyone have that song that was featured on the pretty as the picture > documentary. I loved how the making of the song was portrayed. David Lynch hasn't released that song heard on "Pretty as a Picture" (people on this list, this is a documentry on the film director/painter David Lynch), it's not on the album but he said he might find a way to release it if and when it's finished. To the rest of the Velvet Station, that song performed by Jocelyn Montgomery was assumed by people to be destined for the album Lux Vixens, based on the music of Hildergard Von Bingen, but it didn't make it. The woman has a lovely voice for singing that kind of stuff which is in Latin, and I believe she plays the violin too. I haven't bought the CD yet because it was only released in USA and I keep forgetting about it, I don't have much of a memory when it comes to thinking about Hildergard, but one day I might remember. When I get into Lynch's world of musical appreciation it does make me wonder, he briefly managed to tell me (in the almost daily on-line group chats) that he recently found Julia Fordham's Happy Ever After song to be beautiful and he wants to record with her one day. I bought a CD with a collection of her hits and it took me about twelve goes to see what he must have liked. In my normal world I would not be listening to this song and now I've caught onto it, so I worry. Someone did tell me that she did one or two interesting things in her career. It's an exercise in lowering my defenses to things that I might appreciate if I sat down and pondered long enough on the thing > btw anyone has listened to the new stina yet? > I love her voice and brett sings rather bowieshly low. > > and the sounds are mysterious yet warm As I mentioned before I've got the new Stina album. I missed her Cinema tour because it was at 11pm in London and I wasn't likely to get home after that, I still feel bitter about that. So I'm casting a bitter reflection onto the album so that is might unveil weird unbelievable twisted echoes in my mind Some songs force me to keep thinking about that song "we had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun" and the sentiment of that about I think a dying dog. This album is starting to do weird things to me, She is becoming a siren sing a secret sense of paranoia about being in lost in time, as if she is a memory calling me back through time, getting me confused in a certain way, wondering what it would be like if the last twenty five years didn't exist and I'll woke up back as a child in the 70s, to live the past 25 years all over again. I think my Stina Nordenstam story is becoming more and more complicated. It's a great kind of paranoia to have, and I don't think that Stina's a witch, I think she is a very lovely human being. Brett's voice is refreshingly different. I usually don't like Brett because it's very nasal, but appreciate that he has a musical talent. ------------------------------ End of velvet-station-digest V5 #4 **********************************
