So for instance, the Tim Buckley track would have to be a mixture of two songs both which have the word Blue in it, the other being Chase the Blues Away, I'm sure there's a few other tracks that got mixed in. It's getting more confusing by the second, there are more and more artists getting fragments of their works mixed into the thing. I bought the Stina Nordenstam album 'People are strange', and that's my favourite one of hers, or its the one that I can most easily access. I hope to see William Hut playing this evening in London, didn't make it to the Wednesday gig because I almost collapsed with exhaustian for some reason, I think the Norwegian version of his surname seemed a little more appealing although less easy to spell. Just listening to his solo album at the moment - a lot more chilled than his work with Poor Rich Ones I've just been sent a copy of Morten Abel's new CD - can't decide whether I like it or not - it's really strange hearing how some of the songs turned out in the end. Morten came over to London several times this year for some low-key gigs (mainly in front of people who've never heard of him before) in order to test out new material before going into the studio. So the version of (final track) 'Stay Crazy' that I've been hearing all this time at the gigs now sounds so different on the album that I almost didn't recognise it! Oh well, that's half the fun of music, I guess. - -----Original Message----- From: Wmmvrrvrrmm mvrrrmvrrrmmmrrvvvv [mailto:wmmvrrvrrmm@mac.com] Sent: Friday, December 07, 2001 12:52 PM To: velvet-station@smoe.org Subject: Re: [VS]mixing Velvet Belly(ii) etc > From: Wmmvrrvrrmm mvrrrmvrrrmmmrrvvvv > >> From: Wmmvrrvrrmm mvrrrmvrrrmmmrrvvvv >>> My mind keeps mixing Velvet Belly's Drowning Sun in with Tim Buckley's Blue >>> Melody. I'll have to take note of Morten, I've not actually heard his work yet ------------------------------ End of velvet-station-digest V4 #52 ***********************************
