I guess it could be an excuse to get to grips with their feminine side. Maybe you should take them to a restaurant and get them to eat quiche together. They played at Fabric (a hip nightclub) in London and were brilliant! (they're completely bonkers on stage though, heh heh - I thought they were going to trash one of their synths at the end!) The only let-down was 'Poor Leno' - doesn't quite sound so good live as it does on the album, but then again, Erlend from Kings of Convenience wasn't there to sing it last night. I can see why Sister Bliss from Faithless is such a big fan and why all the dance magazines here in England have been raving about Royksopp. Maybe people will finally (!) start to realise what a great place Norway is for music ....meanwhile my Norwegian film-maker friend Stian has just started a Monday club night at Notting Hill Arts Club to showcase some of the best new up'n'coming talent from Norway in photography, graphic design, film and DJing. Last Monday it profiled Solve Sundsbo, a graphic designer / photographer who's work has featured in magazines such as Face and i-D. Kim Hiorthoy's going to be featured at the club in January - for those of you in Norway, go to a bookshop and look in the 'Children's' section for a book called 'Kurt' (Kurt og Fisken, or Kurt Blir Sint). Those crazy illustrations are by Kim. Apparantly he's a DJ too and released a CD a couple of months ago, but I can't get hold of it anywhere. - fLip - - -----Original Message----- From: Wmmvrrvrrmm mvrrrmvrrrmmmrrvvvv [mailto:wmmvrrvrrmm@mac.com] Sent: Saturday, November 10, 2001 2:51 PM To: velvet-station@smoe.org Subject: Re: [VS] Lamb > From: Philippa.Demonte@bmg.co.uk >like real men.....with a one-on-one football match, heh heh I don't know how football matches can be for 'real men', with all that hugging and kissing between team members when they score a goal. I actually do like this stuff. http://www.ldj.tm.fr/creation/hiorthoy.htm I still haven't heard any Royksopp yet apart from their King of Convenience remix which isn't going to give me a clue. I'll get there soon, I'm sure.
