To see 2000 people (in the audience) jumping up and down and singing along was unbelievable - you never get that kind of response in London usually :) So Yngve, you are going to be in for a real treat when you go to see Lamb next month - Philippa - - -----Original Message----- From: Yngve Hauge [mailto:onealien@mo.himolde.no] Sent: Monday, October 22, 2001 9:23 AM To: Velvet Station Subject: Re: [VS] Lamb On Sat, 20 Oct 2001 Philippa.Demonte@bmg.co.uk wrote: > Hiya > > Yngve - I couldn't remember - have you already been to the Lamb gig in > Norway? > I'm going to see them tonight in London and I cannot wait!!! > The concert in Oslo is Nov 17 , but I did buy the ticket as soon as I got the list of shows a month ago :) - -- Yngve n.p. On Sunday's, all the teenagers get dressed up like goths / rockers / victims of a chainsaw massacre (you get the idea)....for fun...for showing off to the photographers and tourists at Yoyogi Park...and then there are loads of bands / buskers / street theatres / copeira groups all vying for people's attention around the park (where you'll also find flea markets selling anything and everything). Fun place to be on Sundays :) So maybe there were a few Anne-Marie look-alikes (from the days when she used to wear a flowing white dress on stage) that I didn't see As for things erupting in Japan, the only things that erupt there are the volcanos! I went to a real live one in Kyushu (the southern island) called Mount Nakadake (which is one of 5 peaks making up Mount Aso), but when I stared down into the eye of it, I was surprised to find that it wasn't glowing red or orange inside, but a smouldering milky blue colour. A Korean guy explained to me that it was because rainwater had mixed with the sulphuric gases - quite beautiful, but dangerous, which is why there were concrete shelters to be found near the peak, lest it should suddenly erupt! The surrounding area was like a moonscape, all powdery black ash and so quiet that you could hear a pin drop! Would be a great place to shoot a video....except that Jason from Spiritualized thought of the idea first. When Versuvius (or was it Etna?) in Italy blew it's top again this year, Jason took the first plane he could out there with a couple of camera people, who filmed him in a heat-reflective suit (looks like a spaceman suit) walking around the smouldering ashes. I've seen a little of it edited to a track called 'Out of Sight' - it's really beautifully shot with arty images of Jason with the lava flowing down the volcano in the background. - -----Original Message----- From: Wmmvrrvrrmm mvrrrmvrrrmmmrrvvvv [mailto:wmmvrrvrrmm@mac.com] Sent: Monday, October 22, 2001 11:53 AM To: velvet-station@smoe.org Subject: Re: [VS] etc fLip, Were there any 'almost Velvet Belly clones' at all erupting in Japan when you were there? ------------------------------ End of velvet-station-digest V4 #45 ***********************************
