Well, I was just at her concert in Seattle last night, and it was fantastic. (I was just about 20 feet from the stage, so I was in heaven.) I've seen her three times and think this was the best of the shows. What an incredible voice! It just reaches out and greets the audience as intimate friends in every one of her songs. Wow. With her acoustic guitar she almost doesn't need any backup. You just want to let her run on with her beautiful stories and perceptive insights on life and the world. If anyone here wants to check out her music, I recommend starting with "The Honesty Room" CD. Dar is a folk singer, but very youthful; no warbly crustiness here! She's a very small woman with, sometimes, a blond pony tail and a bucketful of smarts. And she's so consistently energetic on stage that during the concert I kept thinking she might gallop off into the audience with her guitar at any moment. ~Adam ------------------------------ End of velvet-station-digest V4 #43 ***********************************
