Good choice of album, Dom!
Erlend and Eirik are old friends of mine, but now that they're famous,
I never get to meet up with them any more and their gigs are always either
sold out or on when I'm not in town, doh!
Last time I really saw them was the day they signed with Source Records.
They celebrated with a gig Upstairs At the Garage in London...which was
good,
but not as good as the 'gig' that Erlend and Eirik played for me and one
other
in someone's living room later that night! Only marginally better than the
very
first Kings of Convenience gig I saw at the Poetry Cafe in London about 3
years ago,
which was also like seeing them play in someone's living room.
Ah, they were the days....

I bought the Kings of Convenience CD single. Actually it's kind of a
nightmare scenario that erupts when I listen to them because I keep
imagining
the two men's haircuts, as they sing in an empty room somewhere and I can't
believe it's for real. It's as if they're secretly being sarcastic through
their singing about the fact I as a listener must think that they look as if
they're the most dull looking people in the world with dull haircuts who
should belong in the Eurovision Song Contest, and then my mind is obviously
be caught up in the haunting mind numbing prettiness of their songs. This is
a kind of creative paranoia event I'm having and enjoying.
Of course it's beautiful and I want to buy the CD album.
There's an interview with them in the new issue of NME.

Well it's nice to think that I read a poem in that same venu once.
There is something very beautifully boring and cosy about this single
definitely, which can be a positive comment from my own perspective, of
course I wouldn't shove that comment in everyone's face because of the
possible misunderstanding that it could cause . That gig in the living room
somewhere sounds beautiful. I'll have to look out the next time they're on
the way here.
