[Christian Aamodt Subject: [VS] Report from John Dee... Hello there! A brief report from the free show at John Dee in Oslo yesterday. John Dee was filled with at least 250 people (I do not think it was full...), which made it a very pleasant show to be at, without the crowded feeling I often get at John Dee. The one problem with free shows, though, is that people have that strange notion that if a show is free, it is perfectly all right to talk all the time during the show. I guess quite a lot of the attendants would not have been there if it hadn't been a free show. Well, to the core. The setlist was: 1. Wide Open Spaces (Brilliant, new sort of 'Biosphere'-like version) 2. The Key 3. Drift (with even more heavy rhythm than usual) 4. Our Happiness 5. Soon (new song, a little bit different from the show with Biosphere) 6. He's Packing 7. Easy 8. Trick 9. Loneliness 10. Oystercatcher - --- 11. Drowning Sun 12. Untold - --- 13. New song (very quiet, with only Vidar and Anne Marie on stage. I guess this one will change quite a bit, as Anne Marie said it was written last week...) The show was a bit shorter than usual, but interesting in the way that I felt that I could sense a little change inspired by Biosphere in many of the songs. The sound was very good, so it seems the new sound system at John Dee was a good investment... I have heard 4 new songs alltogether since May, which I hope will all be on the next album... they all sound very promising. Especially 'Soon' have potential to become a new VB-favourite of mine. BTW Does anyone on the list know of any planned release of a new album? I think VB should consider releasing an EP once in a while... That's all for now. Tine, I hope you had a great birthday! - -Christian ------------------------------ End of velvet-station-digest V2 #15 ***********************************
