Hang on one second! First things first - how do we know that Anne Marie and the rest of Velvet Belly are going to be in Oslo around 24. December? They might all be going back to Kristiansand or even to Holland (in Anne Marie's case). Secondly - someone remind me - who was it who said they could compile / mix the tape? Was that you, Yngve? Maybe we should make up a tape which just has messages from us + our own little songs (Elin)/compositions/cover versions/poems, etc, rather than music by other people - otherwise if we all tape something from a CD (fy!) & send to Yngve (or whoever) to tape/mix again, the sound quality of the final version is going to be really poor - If we do something that is just by us, it makes it more personal too. If that's o.k. with everyone, then we need to set a deadline for getting material to Yngve (or whoever). Elin / Tine - whaddayamean you have no opportunity to tape yourselves singing??? Haven't you got a simple tape recorder? Or know someone with a 4-track?...or if you really have to do it properly in a studio (let's go the whole hog!), then why don't you go to the Musikkhogskolen (?) at Majorstua and ask if one of the students can help you - I'm sure they would be only too willing to help, because it gives them extra experience in a studio.....AND IF THAT DOESN'T WORK...find someone with an answer phone (cassette type) that you can sing into (nice telephone effects). Are we going to have some artwork for this cassette too? I'm sure there is something else....can't remember - Philippa P.S. I'll see if I can co-ordinate the English fans to contribute something - - maybe we should contact some of the fans in Holland to do something too > -----Original Message----- > From: Ms Elin Gyda Sjølie (Dreaming Girl) [SMTP:e.g.sjolie@hfstud.uio.no] > Sent: 01 December 1998 08:54 > To: Tine Birgitte Haugen > Cc: velvet-station > Subject: Re: [VS] Christmas giftproject > > On Tue, 1 Dec 1998, Tine Birgitte Haugen wrote: > > >say that we want to give them something from us. Or go to a music shop, say that you are looking to buy a microphone and 4-track, ask to try them out in the shop, and then sneakily record something? (Where does Vidar work, by the way?) Seriously though, is there someone on this mailing list in the Oslo area who could help Elin?
