Just a few words from a future "list spy"... I am not the kind who post to lists all the time, but I like to read what other people write, and occasionally I like to sneak in a comment here and there... perhaps it will be different on this list... My name is Christian. I am 25 years old, living in Oslo, Norway (feels kinda stupid writing this, in English and all, as I guess most people on the list are Norwegians like myself... BTW are there any non-Norwegians on the list yet?) My first Velvet Belly experience was in the winter of 1995, just as "Window Tree" was rereleased on BMG. I read a review about the record, and I went to listen to it in my local record store. They did not have it, but they had "Little Lies". I liked the record a lot, but I waited a few days and bought "Window Tree", which was a thrilling experience... I first saw VB at the Roskilde Festival in 95, which really was a great concert. They played at 2 p.m. on the Sunday, and everybody were rather tired. After all the more stressing bands the other days, it was great to listen to VBs calm and relaxing music... Since then I have been to quite a lot of shows, and it's difficult to point out one that is better than the rest. A special experience was when Anne Marie and Tor Henning played acoustically at Gamla in Oslo on what was called a "songwriter's night". They played five or six songs in quite different versions, more stripped (surprise...). Well, I guess that's all for now. I will go and see Velvet Belly in Oslo tonight, and I will try to give a report tomorrow, if Tine is not faster than me... (hi Tine!) Oh, I nearly forgot... Dagsavisen in Oslo has an article on the ongoing tour today, which can be found at: http://www.dagsavisen.no/nyetakter/1998/11/122268.html - -Christian ------------------------------ End of velvet-station-digest V1 #8 **********************************
