If you aren't interested in that, there is nothing else to read here. I got all the stuff in one place yesterday and burnt all the CD's for the US branch then. I packaged them up and a friend took them to the post office this afternoon. So you should all be getting them sometime next week. Your package should contain a CD-R, front and back inserts and a label that can be put on the CD. Label applicators (typically by Neato) are readily available. If you don't have one, it's probably best to find someone to help you put it on, rather then have it go on crooked or odd, since then your CD won't play. I know some players (particularly big changers) can have trouble with these labels. Thanks to all who helped out. Mike/Fog did a phenomenal job with the artwork transfer. I think you will all be floored by the printing job. Dan's transfer sounds great. Also thanks to people who were back-ups in case I didn't get it all done (woj, Jeff Hanson), and off-list people who helped a bit and won't see that they got thanked (Todd and Amy). If you haven't gotten your CD in two weeks or there is something wrong with the one you got (post office destroyed it, doesn't play), let me know. I won't be back until late September, but I'll try to work it out. And thanks to all who sent money. I passed on $48 to Veda from my branch. (It's not a multiple of 5 since some people gave me extra money for shipping or whatever and I added it to the donations.) Subject: Oh, and another side note-- Thanks for not revealing _Auditorium_'s track listing. I'm just waiting to cringe when I see that she didn't choose to put my favourite tracks of the show I went to on the album. ;) _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Aug 2002 19:01:36 -0400 From: "a sleeping lily ..." Subject: Re: silver Oh, Meth, you're a lucky woman. I sent the payment out for my copies of _Auditorium_ and _Silver_ a few days ago; all there is left for me to do is wait. I think they'll make the perfect soundtrack to my first few weeks of university ... and if Veda does indeed tour in the fall, well, I would be even happier (to put it in an inarticulate way :P). Oh, and I received my Songs About People and Buildings CD-R from the lovely Stephanie, and, despite a raging ear infection, have been listening to it regularly. I am planning to buy the tape simply because I like cover art and lyrics (anyone who has this: are there any written in the liner notes?), and because I like having the original copies of recordings whenever possible. So, some thoughts about SAPAB: I really like how Veda uses her high register quite a bit -- of course, this may be because she was younger then, and her voice had not fully matured. But I like it either way. ;) It seems like Veda doesn't consider this album to be representative of her work -- but I think it is certainly as much a part of her as _Spine_ or _Path of a Body_ is; it certainly possesses some of the same otherworldy qualities that her other albums do. But then, there is a guileless quality to it...this can be seen in songs like "Laine", for instance. I like it. I don't know how to articulate it very well, but... it's there. I really, really, REALLY love the piano in "538 E. Georgia"; the chord progressions are satisfying The song is lovely. "Neighbourhood Song" makes me smile. Anyone else have any thoughts? (Just trying to start some discussion because I've been cooped up with my family for a few weeks, and will be moving to a city where I don't know anyone, so this Internet connection is, pathetically, my only connection to people who may be closer to my age.) yours in Veda goodness, - -the artist formerly known as the Canadian Weirdo (Emily) _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Aug 2002 21:17:19 -0400 From: "Foghorn J.
