Fornorn" Subject: RE: Songs Tree + new album info FYI: Paypal charges the receiver of funds. For example, while the posted cost of Dectopia was $5, PayPal took $0.30 from each transaction for a net of $4.70 to me. I had a guy give me a partial refund of shipping costs for an ebay item, and PayPal took a cut of that too. The fee may be a bit higher now. The fees page says it's 2.9% + 30 cents, reduced to 1.4% + .30 if you are a "preferred member" (registered, provide a couple alternatives for them to get money from you). There's a lower rate if you're a "merchant", but I doubt many on this list have elected that category (I haven't, despite that flurry of CDR activity and a few ebay purchases, I'm still standard, "preferred"). Also: "There is an additional 1% fee for payments received from a user in another country. This fee is currently waived for Canadian sellers receiving payments from U.S. buyers." I think adding an extra $0.50 per single copy to the "pay to" amount for Paypal fees should cover it. If you're transferring more money around, do the math beforehand. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Aug 2002 11:50:29 -0700 From: guapo stick Subject: p:ano when we last left our heroes, Neal Copperman quoted vedahille.com: >but til then you can see my husband's band p:ano touring from vancouver to >san diego and back mid august. they're lovely, and i play quite a bit on >their new record When it's dark and it's summer. happy trails everyone. i was just going to post/ask about p:ano, actually. with the latest insound.com order i received, there was a postcard for this rekkid with the blurb, "the debut album from vancouver's p:ano, featuring veda hille and members of jerk with a bomb, radiogram and beans." strangely, insound does not appear to be carrying the album. however, there are other links on the card: hive-fi recordings (which released the album in canada) and zum media (who released the album in the states). looks like ordering infomation, mp3s, etc. can be had there. woj ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Aug 2002 12:11:26 -0700 From: guapo stick Subject: Re: p:ano when we last left our heroes, guapo stick exclaimed: >strangely, insound does not appear to be carrying the album. oh wait, it's there: http://www.insound.com/annex/search.cfm?query=p%3Aano . sometimes i can be really dense. +w ------------------------------ End of trajectory-digest V6 #36 *******************************
