Please add this Canadian lurker to the Songs tree. I'd be happy to help branch this but am concerned about being away on vacation from Aug. 5 - Labour Day so time grows short. Many Thanks, Dave (Toronto, Canada) _________________________________________________________________ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Jul 2002 12:21:32 +0000 From: "Great Spangled Fritillary" Subject: Song Tree. Already done: http://home.earthlink.net/~foghornj/vhpbcd2.pdf I have an alternate PDF made with higher resolution images, but it's 14 Meg and not something everyone will need to download. I can print copies of this on my photo quality inkjet printer, although I might tone down the blue background (the flat blue, not the blue in the painting), to save ink. Obviously it would be more cost efficient to send a bunch of copies to the distributing country roots than individually to all the leaves. Contact me to discuss further. Mike Foghorn already did this - pointing us at http://home.earthlink.net/~foghornj/vhpbcd2.pdf looked good to me! You can fold it and you're all set. The inside will be blank, of course, perfect for writing in your own thoughts about people, buildings, music or art. http://home.earthlink.net/~foghornj/vhpbcd2s.pdf ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Jul 2002 21:00:36 -0400 From: meredith Subject: Re: Songs tree Hi, Y'know, even if a negative answer comes down from Veda about this tree (which I honestly doubt, but we should of course wait to see for sure), if nothing else this thread has brought some people out of the woodwork whose phosphors I'm very happy to see. I'm going on a week long vacation starting Wednesday. Anyone who wants to get added to the tree, feel free to toss your name out and I'll jot them all down when I get back. At that point, we can finalize the structure and make sure everyone is taken care of. I think we can get by with three branchs. I'll be happy to be the US branch (though I might like help if it gets over 30 or so). Stephanie should have a copy in her hands (now or soon). Since you got this thing started, are you willing to handle the Canadian folks? Anyone eager to be the European branch? Here's what I propose. Suggestions to improve things are welcome. People should contact the branch for their region and work out details for covering costs. I'd suggest that the branches get either blanks & postage or reimbursement of cost. (I think my costs will be about $3, but expect them to vary a bit for people. The CD's I use cost about 40 cents, I can get mailers for free, and postage is probably on the order of $2. Jewel boxes might be free, but they probably add about 50 cents to shipping. I usually have tons of extras, but I seem to have given so many away it's not clear that I have 30 left. It's usually more cost effective to not bother with jewel boxes and let the recipient buy them.) When you request your CD, specify if you want artwork or not. Fog, what's a fair reimbursement to you for art? A dollar a pop? Once people contact their branch and make arrangements, and once the branches get their orders in, they can tell Fog how many copies of the art they need and cover his costs. Does this sound reasonable? All of this can probably be done via paypal, which makes life very handy. neal Latest list: Canada: Anne-Marie Long Arthur Liestman Brian Gue Justin Bur "Stephanie Grossman" USA: Allan Anderson "ayesha coosemans" (SF til Aug 30/Canada after) brad Cheryl Carlson Jeff Wasilko John Jonathan Sadow Lori Shiraishi "Michael R.
