Her band and sound palette just keep growing! > >sweet? (I'm on a reaalllly slllloooowwww connection > right now so I can't check the lyrics for myself, but lyrics are online at > vedahille.com.) "Sweet" is the one with the musical saw in it. Thanks... I know so many of the songs without actually knowing their titles. I like that about Veda's music, but it can make talking about it a bit confusing! BTW, another anecdote from the Vancouver show. This weekend a friend was telling me how amazed they were when they saw David Grisman and he broke a string and just kept playing. I've seen this so many times that I just assume most good musicians can do it. However, I've never seen what Veda did. I can't remember what song this was on, but late in one set she broke a string on her 4-string guitar. She kept singing without missing a beat, all the while quickly re-tuning the other three strings on her guitar. In under a minute, she had that done and was back in the game again. I was quite impressed. neal ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Jun 2002 17:15:44 -0500 From: "alyssa" Subject: Re:trajectory-digest V6 #17 the song Ballad of Marie Saunders is actually written by Bertolt Brecht (who did the lyrics) and Hans Eisler.. i'm learning to play it on the piano :) such a powerful song.. - -alyssa. _____________________________________________ Free email with personality!
