Someone had asked if she's still working with her band. She said she's concentrating on the solo _Field Study_ stuff for now, but has been writing new material for the band and hopes to record it with them early next year. (Performances would presumably follow.) >I have heard that the working visa conditions for Canadians working in the >US is less favorable than it used to be, so this surprised me a little, >although the fact that once here in the lower 48, she must make the best of >it, that's always been the case, perhaps now more than ever. True. She has to really make it worth her while to come south of the border from now on. Just having a couple of gigs isn't going to cut it any more. >Anyway, just wondering if anyone else heard anything about another imminent >new album, and also to prod any New York Staters (or thereabouts) to think >about yer local venues, and pass on any relevant info. I second that. I know she talked to a couple Bostonians about that too. It'd be really cool if she could set up a bona fide Northeast tour, with stops in upstate NY and Massachusetts and everywhere in between. She wants to come back to this area in the fall, so she'd appreciate any help any of us could give her to make that happen. >Allow me to take a moment here to congratulate Meth & Woj for hosting the >U.S. premiere of the full multimedia presentation of Field Study. She'll also be in Brooklyn as part of Celebrate Brooklyn at the Prospect Park Bandshell on July 21 at 7:30 pm. Her performances are always intensely fun ... definitely worth checking out if you haven't seen her already. Maybe woj will get lucky and she'll rap at him from less than a foot away again. ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ------------------------------ End of trajectory-digest V5 #40 *******************************
