If y'all aren't already checking out the Yukon Now! site to see the progress of Veda's Yukon Journey, bookmark the following page: There's not a lot there yet, but there is supposedly going to be more soon. It's fascinating stuff. Veda's in some very interesting company, too! +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 15 Jul 2000 17:16:05 -0400 From: "rachel stone" Subject: Re: Yukon Journey and more Kim Barlow, who is along for the journey, is an amazing musician. A cellist, guitarist and hysterically witty songwriter who is also capable of breathtakingly intimate moments of song. I saw her a year ago in a workshop at the Winnipeg Folk Festival with Veda, Annie Gallup and Cate Friesen. Check out her album "Humminah." It's excellent. On a couple of other notes, for those of you interested in new musicians, Christine Fellows (who is vaguely a cross between Kristin Hersh, Veda and Philip Glass) is going to be heading to Alberta, B.C. and Washington in September, touring with Veda's own stickboy, Barry Mirochnick. If you're interested in knowing more, contact me. And if you're interested in hearing a snippet of Ms. Fellows, check out www.endearing.com. Christine's even just written a lovely waltz for Veda...hmmm. Also, Veda's gonna be in Winnipeg in October, so Manitobans should keep an eye out. I'll definitely be looking for Christine Fellows--I really like her _2 little birds_ disc, which I heard about from Rachel. There's also a page on the disc at http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/guide.cgi?artists/fellows.christine if you want to read my full review of the disc. - --Neile - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Neile Graham ...... http://www.sff.net/people/neile ....... neile@sff.net Les Semaines: A Weekly Journal . http://www.sff.net/people/neile/semaines The Ectophiles' Guide to Good Music ....... http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide ------------------------------ End of trajectory-digest V4 #32 *******************************
