Veda returns to the West End Cultural Centre in Winnipeg on October 23 as part of the WECC's annual Women On Stage festival (Oct. 22 has Jane Siberry, Oct. 24 has various people including Cate Friesen, who has played with Veda). The first time Veda ever did a non-Folk Festival gig was at the WECC several years ago, as part of Women On Stage (and there, she met Barry Mirochnick). She'll share the stage with the incredible Christine Fellows, a Winnipeger who can be described as a cross between Kristin Hersh and Lisa Germano with a far more interesting edge (and a fantastic violist). There will be a third person on the bill (it was supposed to be Oh Susanna), but no one knows who she is, yet. But the Veda/Christine thing isn't to be missed, as they know each other, compliment each other and are both individually stunning. So if you're in the Winnipeg area, call the WECC. Tickets aren't on sale yet, but should be by next week. Now I'm going to go back to seething with jealousy and realize that I'm not going to hear the new CD in forever! Rachel. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Sep 1999 21:04:55 -0500 From: "girl with the curious hair" Subject: anyone recording veda in ireland??? with nick cave? anyone?? please??? i'd like veda and nick and actually john cale, and anyone else who is playing as well. dammit, and just a year ago i was living in cork.... j ------------------------------ End of trajectory-digest V3 #78 *******************************
