Subject: saw veda tonight! my god, i don't know if i can go another day without hearing those new veda songs. man, it was just so incredible. i was sitting there (Vancouver East Cultural Centre)and was like shivering and tearing up uncontrollably the entire time. there's just somthing about veda and her band in the live setting that is just so powerful. i guess it's kind of silly really but what can you do. she's just so talented musically and lyrically. the imagery she conjures up in a small sentance is mind boggling for me.(e.g."your blood on the paper, you're socks full of stones" from slumber queen. and there's this new line from a new song about wind blowing leaves through someones doorway. (wow aren't i being precise!) anyway, i just wanted to comment on how flawless and beautiful it all is. it was really interesting tonight cuz she was opening for tribe 8 (a hardcore band from san francisco) and you could tell she was out there to rock in a wholesome 80's way. the entire set was pretty hard hitting and it was quite an unexpected surprise. it just shows how diverse her and her music is. i ended up chatting with her briefly afterwards, didn't really have time to get all the scoop on the new album though, oh well. i gave her a photography project i did at school last year on the song "shamus and stone" (don't ask me why i'm telling you all this, but i just am.) she seemed pretty interested. oh and if anyone wants to send her money to help her out(i asked her about this of course)send it to the p.o. box number in the liner notes of her cd's. or contact her by email even though she doesn't check it that often. and one last thing, if anyone out there has any live tapes of veda or any of the scrappy bitches(esp. if you have some new veda songs) i'd be truly grateful if we could do a trade or somthing. so if anyones interested just email me whenever you find time. thanks very much. .nick. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of trajectory-digest V3 #49 *******************************
