(Did anyone make it to either of >those? It sounded like the Pittsburgh gig was a rather unique experience >for all involved.) I was at the show in Philly, at the Sam Adams Brew House on Sansom Street between 15th & 16th sts. It was my first time there. I was going to see Veda for the very first time. It was, in fact, going to be my very first listen of her music. I had read of her name on another list, and on that recommendation I joined this list, for the purpose of being informed of any local appearances. I wanted to check her out live before I buy any CDs. This has worked for me extremely well this past year, as I've discovered Emm Gryner, Heather Nova, Mary Arden Collins, and Bic Runga. All were incredible in person and I then purchased and love their CDs. Please check out these talented women. Back to the Brew House, a second floor bar and microbrewery, with a bar with tables in one room and an adjacent room with the stage in front and some bar stools halfway deep against the wall. As I entered the room, little did I know Veda was standing there with her band. As she took stage, 5 people were in the room. Veda remarked about how she was just to speaking to us and now we were like 20 feet away (because of the chair setup). I really felt like moving much closer, but with that tall bar stool, it would kind of look stupid if not against the wall, which it couldn't be due to loads of luggage there. Veda was very good, I enjoyed all the songs ( 8-10), her band is real good especially guitar, yet it was extremely frustrating to me that a talent such as she was not being properly showcased. If not for me joining this list, I would have missed this show; it was minutely advertised. I did speak with her after the show for a minute; she was very sweet and I also found her beautiful. I will now buy her CDs and will see her whenever she's in my area. Thanks to this and all lists. P.S. - someone came in the room later and stayed til the end - an audience of 6 !! But a grateful audience. Especially this first timer. Love and music, >Tim Atwell ------------------------------ End of trajectory-digest V3 #34 *******************************
