Path of a body is a clear step between Veda's early slightly folkier sound and her more experimental spine sound. It's a mix of beautiful, gentle songs ("and birds" and powerhouse songs like "driven". Here is a picture is a concept album about Emily Carr, and as such is a bit of a departure from Veda's main musical trajectory. It's mostly softer in sound, and though the pieces of it are lovely individually, its impact is more as a whole, in the journey travelled over the entire cd. I wouldn't want to be without both eventually at least. Remember, if you're buying them from a Canadian source like www.absound.ca (which is slow but reliable) you're paying Canadian dollars, and that means your U.S. money is worth a little over a third more. Meaning if you're paying $15 Canadian for a disc it's about $10 U.S. - --Neile - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Neile Graham ..... http://www.sff.net/people/neile ..... neile@sff.net The Ectophiles' Guide to Good Music .... http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ End of trajectory-digest V3 #2 ******************************
