This was my first time seeing Veda play. She is just the sweetest person. My friend, who had never actually heard Veda beyond my raves, was very impressed. It was nice meeting Hillary, though I wish I had been a bit more vocal and met the rest of y'all. I was quiet and sat near the back of the crowd, since there were no seats when we came in during that very uninspiring guywithaguitar. Hope to catch y'all again sometime soon. Hey all-- Just thought I'd inform y'all of a cute little find I stumbled upon--a four song vinyl single titled "Veda Hille." Apparently it was the sampler that the Bottom Line sent out to record stores. In the used 45's bin for 2.99. Second look shows it's *not* a 45, but a 7" 33rpm spinner. Squeals of delight. Cover has the Fig. 53 Pulse sketch. Inside labels have sketches of two men trying to revive a woman. Tracks: Inspiration (side 1) Bellyfish Strange, sad, stone "deranged by Christof Migone at Avatar in Quebec City, February 1998" Expiration (side 2) Sweet (over the wire) "realignment and bass tracks by Andy Stochansky; digital engineering and guitar effects by Peter Horvath at Liberty Studios in Toronto, February 1998" six, shamus, silence "dissolved by Christof Migone at Avatar in Quebec City, February 1998" So for those of you who can still play LP's (boy, am I glad I held on to my turntable!) it's out there. Ask about--stores that got the sampler and have decided not to sell Veda (arggh!) may have it at a low price. - --Kay - --------------------------------------------------- Kay S. Hi! After several months of not being able to coordinate schedules, I am now proud to announce that Veda Hille will be chatting online with anyone who wants to stop by on Monday, May 18 at 10:00 pm EST. Since I know not everyone has access to an IRC server, I'll be setting up a room called "trajectory" at Yahoo!, . If you've never chatted at Yahoo before, never fear -- it's free, and it only takes a minute to register. INSTRUCTIONS will follow at the bottom of this note. This chat is something Veda's been wanting to do for a while, and I'm excited to be able to help make it happen. I'm not pretending to be an Internet chat maven, but I think this Yahoo thing should work for everyone. If I can get it working, anyone can. :) Hope to see a bunch of you next Monday night! INSTRUCTIONS: 1.) Once you're in Yahoo and have registered in Chat, click on the "Music" button, select the chat software you want to use, then click on the "start chatting" button. 2.) You'll end up in the "Music" lobby. In the box at the bottom left of your screen you will see a "Change room" option - click that, and then the box at the bottom right will contain a list of rooms under the "Arts and Entertainment" category. Click on the "user rooms" option, then scroll down until you find the link for trajectory. 3.) When you hear a mechanical instrument, think of a child shrieking. 4.) If you have any problems, e-mail me and I'll do what I can to help. +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY: the Veda Hille mailing list *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ ------------------------------ End of trajectory-digest V2 #42 *******************************
