Anyway, I suppose my experience was a little different, having been somewhat on the inside of the circle that night, practically part of Veda's little entourage (which included her manager, Emily, Rita Houston, a couple reps from the Bottom Line which is now distributing her record in the US, and a couple of other agents itching to get Veda for something). We did have a "cute little interview" crouched on Bowery St. in the middle of the East Village with all the automobiles and people passing by giving us curious looks, and I think Veda and I seemed curious enough about each other. Our conversation was short, about 15 minutes, because she was rushing off to be a member of the audience at another show, but it has left me looking forward to speaking with her again next Tuesday (I'm going to the release party for Spine). The best part was my dad's impression (he was my escort): he said he thought she was kind of plain looking (wasn't wearing makeup) had saggy boobs (was wearing a tight bowling shirt) and he didn't know what to make of her hair (pink on the bottom, natural dark brown curls on the top) - he cracks me up. I did successfully record Veda's whole set that night, and of course the interview which will be aired either the 17th or the 24th of this month on WRTC 89.3FM Hartford and will be transcribed to join some of the other interviews I have done on the WRTC webpage www.wrtcfm.com. I am willing to make a trade if anyone would like copies. That's all for now. - Amy host of Not Yet Named, the folk show for the undefined ------------------------------ End of trajectory-digest V2 #41 *******************************
