He will definitly be worth hanging around for if you havn't seen him. And you are right Jenny, that is a weird combination. I'm always happy to pick up veda albums to give > as gifts...though I generally prefer to buy them from her! There were two in the used section at Smash, on St. Mark's Place. I'd imagine they're probably both still there -- I think they were $4.99 each. jennie reported: >According to my friend at the N'hampton Box office, Ellis Paul is playing >the IH on May 3rd, so I guess that is who Veda will be opening for. Kind >of a weird combination, but it should be a great show! I *think* I have a vague recollection of seeing Ellis Paul open for Milla, of all people, at the Mercury Lounge in NYC back in the summer of '94. He was okay, but he didn't exactly rock my world. I agree- Veda opening for him is an utterly bizarre combination. She'll either make a legion of new fans or really weird a bunch of Valley folkies out. :) I'm still undecided as to whether or not I'll make the trek up to Noho for this, since I'm not what you'd call overly interested in seeing the main attraction, and 83 miles each way is kind of a haul just for 5 songs. Still, I've been known to do sillier things ... stay tuned. Hmmm... I wonder. What would be the perfect double bill involving Veda? I wish I'd been there the time she opened for Ani DiFranco. After seeing her do a song with Meryn Cadell I'm thinking that could be a good pairing too. +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Apr 1998 22:30:35 -0400 (EDT) From: "Jennie, the Intrepid Folk Girl" Subject: Re: stores and shows Meth said: > I'm still undecided as to whether or not I'll make the trek up to Noho >for this, since I'm not what you'd call overly interested in seeing the >main attraction, and 83 miles each way is kind of a haul just for 5 >songs.
