Cleaves Brown University "...we are such stuff as dreams are made on..." ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Apr 1998 03:00:57 -0400 From: D a n S t a r k1 Subject: New NYC Tour Date Hi all, I just got back home from a week-long trip that included stops in Toronto and London, Ontario, where I caught Veda's shows in both of those cities. Sorry I don't have time to post detailed reviews at the moment, but I will say this - Veda exceeded my highest expectations in Toronto, which was my first time ever seeing her. Steve I (from ecto) agreed it was one of the best shows he had seen in a long time, adding he liked it even better than the Scrappy Bitch gig he saw last time. The London show was sorely hindered by a terrible venue, pathetic PA and "sound man", and a noisy crowd, but Veda made the most of a bad situation and played a full set for the fans that were there to see her. I got to speak with Veda for a few minutes at the London show, where I told her how I had learned of her music thanks to Neile in Seattle. It seemed I didn't need to elaborate, as Veda was well aware of the great promotion that Neile has given her, and she was obviously very happy to hear her name. :) I also asked about tour dates so I could pass them along, and she apologized for not updating the web site. She said she will be in Europe for the next couple of weeks, but didn't specify where. Then she goes to NYC for the CB's show on the 7th, and she said that will probably be followed by at least one other date at The Bottom Line, on or about May 12th, which is yet to be announced. That seems to be it so far, but Meth and the rest of you East Coasters appear to be in luck. I must unpack and get to bed now, not necessarily in that order!
