Hope this finds everyone well and hanging in there just waiting for spring to finally decide to arrive. This is the month Bottom Line Records should start reissuing Veda's CDs in the States -- I haven't seen any evidence that this has actually happened yet, but if anyone has any info, please pass it along. Last night I saw soon-to-be Bottom Line artist Susan Werner perform at the Iron Horse in Northampton, MA, which was as always a great show. Afterwards I got to chat with her for a few minutes, and I asked her if she was familiar with Veda's work, and she said no, but she was definitely intrigued by my description and said she'd talk to the folks at Bottom Line Records about getting her some of the goods to check out. Personally, I think a Bottom Line Records festival tour featuring Veda, Susan Werner and Moxy Fruvous would be too much fun, and everyone would just have to implode. Who knows, it could happen. I did get one tidtbit of info which is only a by-the-way at this point, but it's way cool and I hope it ends up happening. A few months back on WPKN, the wonderful community station in Bridgeport, CT (89.5 FM) Valerie Kraemer played several tracks from _Spine_ on her show. Someone from a ballet company in Stamford was listening and went totally nuts over what she heard, and called Valerie begging for info on where to get a copy of the CD, because she wanted to use some of the music in an upcoming dance piece. (Apparently the other found music that's going to be in this piece is along the lines of Bruce Springsteen, go figure.) Anyway, I just found out that the ballet company is trying to get Veda to perform the song live during the performance. (I'm not sure exactly which song it is -- maybe "Sweet", but don't quote me. Hell, don't quote me on any of this.) That would be just too cool. So what is it with Veda's music and dance companies, anyway? Speaking of which, does anyone have any info on when the company in Vancouver is going to be doing their Emily Carr thing? +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Mar 1998 13:55:03 -0600 From: Neile Graham Subject: Re: grist for the rumour mill meredith wrote: >Speaking of which, does anyone have any info on when the company in >Vancouver is going to be doing their Emily Carr thing? Sometime this year at least, according to the program for the _Here is a picture_ release party. I think she even spoke the word "autumn" at the time. It's for Mascall Dance, if there's anyone who knows how to contact them to find out more.
