Hope '98 is off to a good start for everyone. (I'm pretty pleased with it so far. :) First, a big welcome to those who have joined the list recently. I trust we haven't been busting your mailboxes or anything. ;> Now for the news flash: Veda is coming back to NYC next week! She'll be opening for Freedy Johnston at the Bottom Line on Thursday, January 22. I don't know how much the tickets are, but if I find out I'll post the info here. As usual there will be two shows, at 7:30 and 10:30. I'm very happy about this, also because I've been wanting to see Freedy Johnston play for a while now. It should be a good show. For those in and around Vancouver, she's got two new dates on her calendar this coming weekend: Saturday the 17th and 18th at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre (the Sunday show is the official release party for _Here Is A Picture_). And on March 1 she'll be at The Western Front, also in Vancouver. A couple other tidbits, while I'm here: - -- If you want to order _Here Is A Picture_ (and trust me, you all do :), the cost is the same as the other CDs ($18 Canadian, $16 US). The order form and discography haven't been updated on the web page yet, but she is accepting orders for it now. - -- Rita Houston of WFUV in NYC listed _Spine_ as one of her Top Ten CDs of 1997 (I'll cut her some slack because I know she only heard the disc for the first time last year :).
