Yow! Veda had said that she was going to be one of the few lesser-known names on the bill, but I had NO idea the lineup was going to be that impressive!!! That says a *lot* for her and the opinion people in NYC have of her, I think. Hopefully Vin Scelsa was sufficiently blown away to have her on his program the next time she's in town. He's a good man to have on your side if you're trying to make a name for yourself in and around New York. > As always, there were 2 shows scheduled at the Bottom Line: 7:30 and > 10:30, doors open 1/2 hour before. For something like that, you'd think they'd be wise enough to only have one show. But I guess that way you wouldn't have gotten to see it, so maybe it worked out better this way after all. :) > Happily, she got this writeup in NEWSDAY, the Long > Island/Brooklyn/Queens daily in this morning's edition: > > "Among lesser-known artists, Canadian singer-songwriter Veda Hille > cast a spell with her ululating, Eastern-tinged "Slumber Queen." > (he saw the early show, lucky dog) Yay!!! Though "ululating" and "Eastern-tinged" aren't words that immediately come to mind when I think about that song (for some reason those words bring to mind the Xena soundtrack instead :}). Veda still hasn't updated her web page with order information for _Here Is A Picture_. I'm guessing the prices would be the same as for her other two CDs, but a quick e-mail to her would verify that. (Time's getting a bit tight for Christmas giving, but there's always Twelfth Night if you want to cheat. ;) I think I've listened to the disc at least 25 times already. I'm interested to hear what the others among you who have it think -- Michael, did you finally get it out of the car? :) +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | |***TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: trajectory-request@smoe.org***| +==========================================================================+ ------------------------------ End of trajectory-digest V1 #42 *******************************
