The Bottom Line has just updated their online schedule (or rather, the person who maintains the WFUV web page has), so now we know the scoop on Veda's upcoming performance there on Thursday, November 13. The show is part of a new series called Nightbirds, featuring women performers and dedicated to the spirit and memory of the late progressive dj Allison Steele ("the original nightbird"). The series is hosted by WFUV's afternoon host, Meg Griffin. This month's installment features Veda, Meryn Cadell, Victoria Shaw, and one other perfomer still T.B.A. This excites me greatly -- I've been wanting to see Meryn Cadell perform for YEARS!!! I don't know who Victoria Shaw is, though -- has anyone else heard of her? There are two shows, at 7:30 and 10:30. I'm not sure how much ticket prices are, but for things like this they're usually in the $12 to $15 range. I'll find out and let y'all know. woj and I will definitely be at the early show, at least (I may be coming straight from the airport, but that won't be the first time... when Veda was part of Required Listening there last summer, I came straight from the airport to that, too. Sigh).
