Best regards, Robert ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Sep 2002 15:09:04 +0200 From: Quos Subject: Beth in Scandinavia Hello everyone, I just saw Beth in Malmo, Sweden this Tuesday, and in Copenhagen, Denmark yesterday, so here are the setlists and a few notes. The concert in Malmo was sold out if I understood it correctly (the venue takes 800 persons), whereas Copenhagen was quite poorly attended (the venue takes 600, I'm guessing maybe 400 persons were there). Both concerts were well received by the audience. The band was 6 persons in addition to Beth (guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, violin, cello), and they sounded great. The setlists were very similar for both nights, and as I'm not that big fan of Daybreaker I thought she concentrated too much on the songs from that one. Also, as a fan of acoustic Beth, I enjoyed most the stuff with just guitar and cello; This One's Gonna Bruise and Concrete Sky were magnificent. But I'm not really complaining about the rest either, it was nice to hear the new songs in live versions. The concert in Copenhagen had a strange and sad ending, as Beth started to cry uncontrollably in the middle of "This One's Gonna Bruise". I have no idea what happened there. She was very quiet during the concert, no joking nor talking at all (expect band introductions and a mystic "you should have a medal for being here tonight"). Ted Barnes walked her out from the stage and that was the end of the concert. Danish National Radio had their "recording car" (or that's what I thought it was) outside the venue in Copenhagen, so I'm hoping they recorded the concert and that they will broadcast it in radio someday. Other notes: I read in the newspaper that she will go to studio in December to record a new album. Anyone else heard this? About recordings from the recent tour, I have some and I'll try to get one or two in circulation soon. Nothing from FM or SBD though, but reasonable quality AUDs.
