Saw her in Austin last week and the band kicked ass. Most of the arrangements, especially of stuff from he first two albums, was totally re-arranged. I wonder who was doing her stuff. Galaxy of Emptiness was incredible. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Aug 2002 10:44:31 -0700 From: Jon Hall Subject: Re: Who does Beth's live arrangements? I don't have a complete set list, but I know she started with Galaxy of Emptiness, then Paris Train, and from there my memory is pretty shot. :) I know she did pretty much the entire Daybreaker album, as well as Stolen Car, Sweetest Decline, and Central Reservation. It's Not The Spotlight was done acousticially for the first encore, followed by this One's Gonna Bruise, then the band came back for Concrete Sky and some others. I was blown away by the live version of Anywhere, which is very different from the album. More energy and beats, with a very big finish. I believe she said it was going to be the next single, and if that's so, I hope this other version would be on that as well as the album version. The band was incredible, and really came out to compliment Beth's voice. I was amazed at how much presence everyone had, without in any way affecting Beth's performance. My odd analogy is that it worked like dipping a strawberry in wine, enhancing the taste without fundamentally changing its nature. :) - - Jon ------------------------------ End of trailer-park-digest V3 #80 *********************************
